Construction defects noticed during lockdown.

We notice defects in our home during lockdown.
Now that we are spending more time at home because of the COVID-19 crisis, many of us are noticing that our home is not as comfortable as we would like: cracks in the walls, damp near the shower, draughts coming through the windows, the neighbour’s television sounding as if there were no wall in between….
It is not that these defects had gone unnoticed, but with the pace of daily life we sometimes have neither the time nor the inclination to find out whether there is any kind of guarantee and/or for how long, and in the end nothing is done about it.
That is why we recommend that you take this opportunity to ask us and get advice with no obligation. If you provide us with some information – such as a brief description of the defects, their location, photographs, the age of the home and any correspondence with the developer… – we can tell you whether your defects are still under guarantee, what deadline applies and who you could claim against. Our firm has a legal and a technical department which jointly carry out a preliminary review of the problems affecting your home, garage or the communal areas of your development, so that we can advise you accordingly.
If, after reviewing the documents for your case (including photographs), a legal claim is viable, an expert report would be needed to determine the exact nature of the defects, examine their cause (and who is liable for them) and set out and cost the appropriate repair method.
Do not hold back from consulting us for fear of not being able to afford the costs. Depending on the case, we can work “on a percentage basis”, with our firm even covering all the costs initially. Consult us with no obligation.
